Classic Tiramisu

Layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and mascarpone cream, dusted with cocoa.

Ingredients

  • Mascarpone250g
  • Espresso (cooled)200ml
  • Ladyfingers200g
  • Egg yolks3
  • Sugar1/2 cup
  • Heavy cream1/2 cup
  • Cocoa powder2 tbsp
  • Marsala wine2 tbsp

Instructions

    Whisk egg yolks and sugar over a double boiler until thick.

    Beat mascarpone into yolk mixture until smooth.

    Whip cream to soft peaks; fold into mascarpone mixture.

    Mix espresso with Marsala in a shallow dish.

    Dip each ladyfinger briefly; arrange in a single layer.

    Spread half the cream over the layer; repeat.

    Refrigerate at least 4 hours.

    Dust with cocoa before serving.
